Girls Beat Mosley Again; Move on to Region Semi-Finals

The GBHS girls soccer team is showing signs of a deep post-season run similar to last season's. Also like last season, they would have to beat the Mosley Dolphins out of the Panama City area to advance. In fact, Gulf Breeze and Mosley have met multiple times in each of the last few seasons, and like the previous four meetings, Gulf Breeze would come out on top. Traveling to Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City, the long drive and disrupted routine was not much of a factor for the seasoned Dolphins. After giving up an early goal and getting behind 1-0, goal-tender Jayden Walters settled in and would not surrender another. Gulf Breeze tied the game at one prior to halftime on a put-back by Aiyannah Robinson after the Mosley goal-tender deflected a Kristen Goodroe shot attempt. Sydney Wood launched an extremely well-placed strike from beyond the penalty box which landed just under the top bar- beyond the reach of the goal-tender- to put her team up 2-1 for good. Gulf Breeze (20-2-2) will now return home to host the Ponte Vedra Sharks (15-4-2) for the Region 1 Finals Tuesday night at Dolphin Stadium.
